”The starting point of all achievement is desire” – Napoleon Hill
And the desire to provide world-class care to the masses has never stopped us from achieving.
Meenakshi Mission Hospital & Research Centre (MMHRC), on the eve of its Silver Jubilee, reflects on its commitment to the community and renews its promise to provide “world-class healthcare at affordable rates”. Our continuing efforts to acquire path-breaking technology, improving the healthcare delivery process and packaging the service at the most affordable price have reached a new dimension this year. The year 2012-2013 has proven to be one more satisfying year with several initiatives and milestones across all disciplines.
The introduction of super-specialities like the Dept. of Bone Marrow Transplant, the Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Surgery departments have once again proven the fact that MMHRC is inclined to exploring new avenues to provide specialized care to our patients. The inauguration of the New Oncology ward with all the necessary facilities has become an added advantage to our comprehensive Cancer care. As always our Accident & Emergency and Intensive Care departments have helped us defend our pride in being considered the most reliable hospital in the region by saving several lives. Our 24 hours laboratory has been reviewed by the National Accreditation Board for Calibration and Testing Laboratories (NABL) and upheld their decision of certifying our laboratory.
MMHRC had also registered its reputation by hosting some international conferences like the PACE 2012 and ENDONEUROCON. Above all, it is the fact that MMHRC has treated more than 11 lac patients – both outpatient and inpatient, which gives me satisfaction the most. Last year, MMHRC has also treated and saved the most number of patients diagnosed with dengue fever. It makes me feel proud to know that the people of Madurai are in support of our causes, an example being the Fundraising Musical Concert by Sudha Ragunathan, by which we raised more than 20 lacs for the Camilla Children’s Cancer Fund which treats Children suffering cancer.
We, at MMHRC, have evolved over the years and have gained expertise in what we do best - providing quality service at affordable rates. 25 years is not just an achievement, but an attitude that displays humility, empathy, courteousness and expertise. I personally express my gratitude to all our stakeholders- our doctors, employees, donors, suppliers and well-wishers, who have been with us and not the least OUR PATIENTS, who are the purpose of our very existence.
